Photo-based, First Nations
artist Arthur Renwick received his MFA from Concordia University, Montreal
in 1993. Since then, Renwick has participated in several solo and group
exhibitions at public galleries and museums, including Gallery 44 Centre
for Contemporary Photography, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Museum for
Textiles. Renwick thoughtfully combines politically engaged subjects
with a contemporary aesthetic to create sophisticated, beautifully crafted
works that combine photography with wood, aluminum and copper. Arthur
Renwick was born in Kitimat, British Columbia in 1965. In 2005 he won
the K.M. Hunter Artist Award.
