Cliff Eyland

     
     
   

Cliff Eyland is an artist, curator, writer and teacher who was born in Halifax in 1954 and now lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Since receiving his BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1982, he has produced countless paintings and drawings in various styles, all measuring 3 by 5 inches.  Recent exhibitions of Eyland’s work include a solo show at the Art Gallery of Ontario and participation in group shows at Italy’s Florence Biennale and "Halifax Proposals" at the National Gallery.   He is regularly commissioned to hide "file card" paintings in the Raymond Fogelman Library at the New School University, New York city.  In 2005 he won a commission from the Winnipeg Arts Council to produce 1000 paintings for the Winnipeg Public Library’s new Milliennium Library.
